We are a small, just-forming group up against a developer with experience of working the UK planning system. We need help. If any of the following apply to you, please email us:
• You understand the planning process; even basic familiarity is invaluable.
• You have specialist knowledge: landscape, ecology, hydrology, heritage, agriculture, noise, traffic, and planning law.
• You can help with communications: design, writing, social media, putting up posters, leafleting.
• You can help on the ground: door-knocking, organising a meeting, talking to neighbours.
• You have local knowledge: wildlife you've seen on the site, photographs from key viewpoints, historical context, or knowledge of heritage sites.
WHO WE ARE
We are a non-profit community group of residents from Kilmersdon, Charlton, Holcombe and surrounding parishes. We have no political affiliation, no commercial interest and no funding from any developer, energy company or political party.
We came together for one reason: to make sure this decision is taken with the community, not despite it.
We came together for one reason: to make sure this decision is taken with the community, not despite it.
We are up against a developer hiding behind tens of different companies in multiple countries, experienced in how to play the UK planning system to get their results. We need the community to join together and stand against them before their industrial developments spread further.
We are fully supportive of solar power as part of the diverse UK power ecosystem, however solar farms must be situated in the right place, balancing the impact on the landscape, agricultural production, ecology and the local community.
